Volleyball Recap: Horizon Takes a Loss

Horizon had taken Monarch down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Hawks fell 3-1 to the Coyotes. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Monarch scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 24-26, 25-17, 25-18.

Katelyn McAuley paced Horizon's offense, picking up 12 kills. McAuley got some help from Annalee Young and her 17 assists.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Monarch, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Horizon has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Fairview on the 1st. As for Monarch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Centaurus on the 30th.
