Softball Recap: Oliver Springs Victorious

Oliver Springs took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Clinton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Oliver Springs Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Clinton Dragons 14-13 on Thursday. The Bobcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Aliya Tinker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Weber, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Tinker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Oliver Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Oliver Springs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clinton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2-1 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oliver Springs will host Hardin Valley Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton, they will welcome Coalfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Coalfield 1, Clinton 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
