Basketball Game Preview: Hamburg Lions vs. Star City Bulldogs

Hamburg is 0-10 against Star City since January of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hamburg Lions will look to defend their home court against the Star City Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m.

Hamburg is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Watson Chapel, falling 60-26. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Wildcats are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Star City had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Billies 48-34.

Star City pushed their record up to 7-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Hamburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Hamburg took a serious blow against Star City in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 72-22. Can Hamburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
