Softball Game Preview: Pine Bluff Zebras vs. White Hall Bulldogs

Pine Bluff hasn't had much luck against White Hall recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pine Bluff Zebras will challenge the White Hall Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Pine Bluff knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully White Hall likes a good challenge.

If Pine Bluff beats White Hall with 15 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Pine Bluff beat Little Rock Southwest on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-5. The victory continues a trend for the Zebras in their matchups with the Gryphons: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, White Hall didn't have quite enough to beat Greenbrier on Saturday and fell 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Taylor Irvin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Emma Ratliff also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Irvin wasn't the only one working in the hit department: White Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post 11 or more hits.

Pine Bluff pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for White Hall, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Pine Bluff suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to White Hall when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Pine Bluff avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
