Volleyball Recap: Riley Shelton Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Fort Zumwalt North

Timberland won the last time they faced Fort Zumwalt North and things went their way on Thursday too. The T-Wolves came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1.

Timberland walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-16, 22-25, 25-14, 25-22.

Timberland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Shelton, who had 17 digs and three assists. Shelton has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Timberland was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Fort Zumwalt North had strong showings from Lily Hahn, who had 13 assists and seven digs, and Maddie Jones, who had 13 digs.

The victory got Timberland back to even at 4-4-1. As for Fort Zumwalt North, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2.

Timberland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Fort Zumwalt East on the 16th. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they have also already played their next game, a 1-1 draw against DeSoto on the 13th.
