Eureka got themselves on the board against Marquette on Friday, but Marquette never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Eureka's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Marquette, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

Eureka wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Howell Central on the 10th. As for Marquette, they will take on Fort Zumwalt West at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
