Football Recap: Coosa Comes Up Short

Coosa extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were outmatched by the Christian Heritage Lions and fell 49-21. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 41-7 to the Lions when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although Coosa took the loss, they still got scores from Xander Sledge, Timbo Mitchell, and Jordan Scott.

As for Christian Heritage, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Christian Heritage got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Henry Hill out in front who rushed for 92 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coosa will welcome Armuchee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Christian Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gordon Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
