Baseball Recap: Bellevue West Takes a Loss

Bellevue West had taken Omaha Central down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Thunderbirds fell 7-2 to the Eagles. The Thunderbirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

Drew Grego was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Bellevue West's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Omaha Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bellevue West will challenge rival Gretna at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Omaha Central is set to face off against their familiar foe Papillion-LaVista at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
