Soccer Recap: Clearwater Find Success

Clearwater pushed their score to eight the last time they played Gibbs, but on Thursday they couldn't quite do it again. The Clearwater Tornadoes narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Gibbs Gladiators 1-0. Jackson Hurst had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Tornadoes.

Clearwater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matches. As for Gibbs, they dropped their record down to 2-7-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Clearwater and Pinellas Park will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Pinellas Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season. As for Gibbs, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lakewood at 8:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
