Clinton and Delavan-Darien are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Cougars will face off against the Comets at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clinton came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Random Lake, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Delavan-Darien lost 11-5 to Turner on Tuesday.

Haaken Hovestol was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Kevin O'Grady also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Clinton dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Delavan-Darien, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Clinton skirted past Delavan-Darien 9-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
