Wilmington's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Romeoville as Wilmington made off with a 19-0 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.
Lexi Strohm looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Wilmington got a massive performance out of Tayloe Stefancic, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. With that strong performance, Stefancic is now averaging an impressive 3.2 RBI per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Nina Egizio, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Wilmington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clifton Central). They put the hurt on Momence with a sharp 14-0 victory on Tuesday. The Comets have beaten the Momence Athletics the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Momence Athletics has come to flipping the script.
The team relied heavily on Lia Prairie, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mia Koch-Perzee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Wilmington's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Clifton Central, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
Clifton Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wilmington has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .630. It's a different story for Clifton Central, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain Wilmington's hitters?
