Volleyball Game Preview: Ephrata Mountaineers vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles

The Ephrata Mountaineers and the Cumberland Valley Eagles, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ephrata heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conestoga Valley. The Mountaineers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ephrata couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Conestoga Valley a tough time in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 31-29, 25-21, 16-25, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley entered their tilt with Wilkes-Barre last Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wolfpack.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-19.

Cumberland Valley's win came from a few key players that Ephrata will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hayden Ackley, who had 15 digs and two aces. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Quentin Bair, who had 11 digs.

Ephrata's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10-1. As for Cumberland Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
