Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Logan's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Logan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs 3-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory on Friday.

Logan's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Buttars, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Logan is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Crimson Cliffs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.

Coming up, Logan will square off against Desert Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Crimson Cliffs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
