Softball Game Preview: River Valley Blackhawks vs. Platteville Hillmen

The River Valley Blackhawks will head out on the road to take on the Platteville Hillmen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither River Valley nor Platteville posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

River Valley fell victim to Richland Center and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Platteville didn't have quite enough to beat Dodgeville on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Jaxcyn Berntgen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

Platteville has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for River Valley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
