Football Game Preview: Union Bobcats vs. Prairie City/Burnt River

The Union Bobcats will face off against Prairie City/Burnt River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Union's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Union is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Elgin, who was ranked 14th at the time (Union was ranked fourth). The Bobcats blew past the Huskies, posting a 54-12 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KJ Klebaum led the charge by rushing for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, while also catching one TD. Klebaum's longest rush was for an incredible 97 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Derek Miller, who gained 189 total yards and three touchdowns.

Union's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Sam Platz refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Klebaum got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Prairie City/Burnt River, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 12th. They walked away with a 28-18 win over Glendale on Friday. Prairie City/Burnt River's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Union's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Prairie City/Burnt River, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
