Volleyball Recap: Goddard's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Goddard unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McPherson Bullpups. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Bullpups from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Goddard may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 16 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16.

Micah Gillespie paced Goddard's offense, picking up five kills. Gillespie got some help from Madelyn Wilson and her five assists.

Goddard's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for McPherson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McPherson beat Goddard by a score of 2-0 later that day.
