Platteview proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Malcolm Clippers, sneaking past 35-33. Those 35 points were actually the fewest the Trojans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

When it comes to explaining why Malcolm lost, don't look at Preston Kucera. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and eight boards. Gavin Little was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Platteview pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Malcolm, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Platteview will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Malcolm, they will be home for the holidays to greet Beatrice on Saturday. The Clippers are facing the Orangemen at the right time seeing as the Orangemen are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
