Platteview proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 35-33 victory from a begrudging Trojans squad. The 35-point effort marked their lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Sully Vanosdall was his usual excellent self, putting up 15 points and five boards. Levi Ekue was another key player, earning three points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks.

Despite the loss, Malcolm still got an impressive performance from Preston Kucera, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Little, who put up four points and six rebounds.

Platteview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Malcolm, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Platteview will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Malcolm, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-32 defeat against Beatrice on the 20th.
