Baseball Recap: Millikan Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Millikan got themselves on the board against Trabuco Hills on Monday, but Trabuco Hills never followed suit. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 4-0. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 11-4 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The result came thanks to Thomas Ramsey's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Adrian Ramirez and Matthew Ness did most of the damage at the plate: Ramirez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Ness went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Ness has posted since back in February.

Millikan is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Trabuco Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4-1.

Millikan and Trabuco Hills should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Rams will face off against Compton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (157 vs. 939). Meanwhile, Trabuco Hills (ranked 36th) will meet El Modena (ranked 356th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2, the Vanguards 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
