Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Warriors vs. Springboro Panthers

The Wayne Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Springboro Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Wayne was able to grind out a solid win over Springfield, taking the game 51-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Springboro entered their tilt with Beavercreek on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over the Beavers. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Beavers are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Springboro, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Wayne came up short against Springboro in their previous meeting back in January, falling 43-38. Can Wayne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
