Volleyball Game Preview: Mitchell Tigers vs. Morrill Lions

The Mitchell Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Morrill Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mitchell has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Morrill will arrive with five straight victories.

Mitchell saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 2-0 to Rapid City Christian.

Meanwhile, Morrill beat Minatare 2-0 on Thursday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Morrill was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-15.

Morrill's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Mitchell couldn't quite get it done against Morrill when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
