Baseball Recap: Dominguez Comes Up Short

Dominguez had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-13-1 to make it four. They lost 6-0 to the Firebaugh Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-2 loss on Tuesday.

As for Firebaugh, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7. Six seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Firebaugh's part, the result came thanks to Kevin Heraldez's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. Heraldez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Falcons are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Andrew Flores was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Reyes, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Looking ahead, Dominguez will be playing at home against Lennox Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Firebaugh, they are taking a road trip to take on Norwalk at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
