Baseball Game Preview: Kutztown Cougars vs. Brandywine Heights Area Bullets

The Kutztown Cougars will take on the Brandywine Heights Area Bullets at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Kutztown's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Brandywine Heights Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Kutztown earned a 4-1 win over Wyomissing. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Brandywine Heights Area hadn't done well against Oley Valley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bullets never let the Lynx get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The Bullets not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 10-0).

The result came thanks to Matthew Sterner's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Tommy Clark was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Yergey Hunter, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Brandywine Heights Area's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Kutztown, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything went Kutztown's way against Brandywine Heights Area in their previous meeting back in March, as Kutztown made off with a 14-3 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bullets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
