Marquette suffered their closest defeat since April 15, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Parkway South Patriots by a score of 5-3. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marquette fell to 4-1. As for Parkway South, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when Marquette Mustangs take on Parkway Central Colts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkway South, they will challenge Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Parkway South 1.8, Liberty 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
