Basketball Game Preview: Tullahoma Wildcats vs. Fayette Ware Wildcats

Tullahoma and Fayette Ware will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Tullahoma sitting on seven straight victories and Fayette Ware on 20.

Tullahoma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Jackson South Side as Tullahoma made off with a 68-48 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Tullahoma had a senior duo take command as Xavier Farrell went 14-for-22 on his way to 31 points along with six rebounds and four steals and Khani Johnson shot 64% from the field to rack up 18 points and five assists. Farrell's afternoon made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Bobo, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Fayette Ware hadn't done well against Fulton recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Fayette Ware came out on top against Fulton by a score of 57-49. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Falcons are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tullahoma better focus on containing Kylon Terry and Tarecous Stevens as the pair were huge in Fayette Ware's win. Terry went 9-for-14 en route to 19 points and eight boards, while Stevens shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Stevens is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 19 games he's played. Elijah Lowe was another key player, putting up four points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Fayette Ware's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Tullahoma, their win bumped their record up to 31-4.
