Football Game Preview: Opelika Bulldogs vs. Dothan Wolves + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in CJ Johnson and Aj Alexander are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Opelika Bulldogs will welcome the Dothan Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Opelika will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Opelika proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 36) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 win over Pike Road.

Meanwhile, Dothan faced Carver Montgomery in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Wolves came up short against the Wolverines, falling 50-28. Despite 221 more yards than the Wolverines, the Wolves couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Dothan and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Opelika, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Opelika has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Dothan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 338.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Opelika took their win against Dothan when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-7 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
