Baseball Recap: Neumann Comes Up Short

The Neumann Celtics didn't have quite enough to beat the Kingwood Mustangs on Thursday and fell 4-2. The Celtics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

MJ Hough was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Neumann is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Cole Travers was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Neumann now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Kingwood, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5-1 record.

Neumann has already played their next matchup, an 8-2 loss against Grapevine on the 5th. As for Kingwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Kelly Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
