Volleyball Recap: Brianne Vandoske Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Freedom

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sheboygan Christian, Howards Grove was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Freedom Irish 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won four in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Howards Grove who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-27, 25-18, 16-25, 15-11.

Howards Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brianne Vandoske, who had 34 assists and 17 digs. That's the most digs Vandoske has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kendall Cruz, who had 17 digs and three assists.

The victory got Howards Grove back to even at 6-6. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howards Grove will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Ozaukee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freedom, they will host Winneconne at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
