Basketball Recap: Middletown's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Middletown was the 44-38 winner over Berlin when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Middletown Blue Dragons and the Berlin Redcoats didn't end well, with the Middletown Blue Dragons falling 61-44.

Middletown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Abanador, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Abanador a new career-high. Rielle Jackson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Middletown's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

Middletown and Enfield will compete for holiday cheer at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Berlin will take on Bristol Eastern in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
