Basketball Game Preview: Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks vs. TPLS Christian Academy Lions

The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks will face off against the TPLS Christian Academy Lions at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Miller School of Albemarle had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 100-72 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Mavericks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Miller School of Albemarle had a senior duo take command as Connor Lyons went 8-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and three steals and Gabe D'Alessandro posted 23 points and four steals. Amare Long was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, TPLS Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bull City Prep National. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), the Lions still had to take the loss.
