Basketball Game Preview: Bertrand Vikings vs. Pleasanton Bulldogs

The Bertrand Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Pleasanton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Bertrand is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Elm Creek, falling 65-41. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Buffaloes: they've now lost six in a row.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Pleasanton took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shelton. The loss put an end to Pleasanton's undefeated start to the season.

Bertrand will have to contain Brennan Lindner as he made an impact in Pleasanton's last game. He posted 27 points. The game was Lindner's third in a row with at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Braxton Eilensteine, who scored nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pleasanton fell to 2-1. As for Bertrand, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Bertrand's way against Pleasanton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Bertrand made off with a 67-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
