Basketball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Greenbrier Christian Academy last Friday, Atlantic Shores Christian came back down to earth. The Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks were dealt an 89-41 loss at the hands of the Catholic Crusaders on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Crusaders are ranked 24th).

Ashton Walker was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for Catholic. Walker's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Christopher Bullock was another key player, going 7 of 12 to rack up 18 points.

Atlantic Shores Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Catholic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.

Atlantic Shores Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-50 win against Hampton Christian Academy on the 6th. As for Catholic, they have also already played their next match, a 75-33 victory against Norfolk Christian on the 4th.
