The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lutheran, who took down 82nd ranked D'Evelyn, 36-14. James Willis threw for 191 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 13 yards in the win.
Evergreen and Glenwood Springs played the most hotly contested game in 3A Metro - West this week, with Evergreen eventually emerging with a 38-32 victory. Josh Toler in the win.
John Martinez provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Arvada bested Summit. He completed 11 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 48 yards. Martinez's favorite target this week was Taylor Vaughn, who caught three passes for 106 yards.
Joshua Claussen was the best wideout in the league this week as the Lions beat the Jaguars. Claussen racked up four receptions for 113 yards. Derek Hizer helped Lutheran's passing attack out by catching one ball for 39 yards.
Aj Eleniewski was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 175 yards on 12 carries as Conifer defeated D'Evelyn. Kailib Geer also contributed to the rushing game with 61 yards on the ground.
Jeremy Bennett's team's Cody Marvel and Connor Skelton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Metro - West in both passing and receiving yards. Marvel has thrown for 1816 yards this season, while Skelton, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 53 catches for 1115 yards. Matthew McClintock from the Lobos leads the league in rushing with 850 yards.
Going into this week's game against the Jaguars, the Bulldogs' Martinez needs 189 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 22 touchdowns this year, Martinez has thrown for 1811 yards with 12 interceptions.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when D'Evelyn takes on Arvada. As it stands, the Jaguars are in fourth, while Tom Baker's team is in third.
Conifer took down Alameda 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Eleniewski in the win.
