Baseball Recap: Benzie Central Comes Up Short

The matchup between Benzie Central and Reed City on Saturday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Huskies came up short against the Coyotes, falling 24-5. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Coyotes when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Benzie Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Reed City, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Benzie Central has already played their next matchup, a 25-7 defeat against Elk Rapids on the 9th. As for Reed City, they will host Tri County Area at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
