Cross County came tearing into Friday's match with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 61-55 W against the Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Cross County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Hengelfelt out in front who to rack up 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Hengelfelt is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brock Allen, who on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Hengelfelt wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Cross County was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Exeter-Milligan/Friend only seven assists.

Despite the defeat, Exeter-Milligan/Friend saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grady Bresson en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keltyn Kirchhoff, who posted ten points.

Cross County pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, their loss dropped their record down to 20-4.
