Soccer Game Preview: Columbus Grove vs. Bluffton

The Columbus Grove Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Bluffton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bluffton will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Columbus Grove extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on Upper Sandusky with a sharp 9-1 win. With Columbus Grove ahead 6-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

They hit Upper Sandusky with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ruth Myers (3), Liv Mayberry (3), Devanie Pingle (2), and Hannah Brodwolf.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Bluffton made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jefferson on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 4-0 shutout. Bluffton haven't had any issues with Jefferson recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Bluffton's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Columbus Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1-2.

Columbus Grove beat Bluffton 4-2 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
