Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Landrey Huffman and Lily Brubaker Lead Greenville to Victory

Greenville entered their tilt with West Carrollton on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Pirates 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Green Wave, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Greenville was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-3, 25-12.

Leading Greenville to victory were Lily Brubaker and Landrey Huffman. Brubaker had six aces and four digs, while Huffman had three digs and three aces. Those six aces gave Brubaker a new career-high. Sara Loudy also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Greenville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in four consecutive matches.

The victory got Greenville back to even at 9-9. As for West Carrollton, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Greenville will host Fairborn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Carrollton, they will head out on the road to square off against Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
