Baseball Recap: Mulberry Victorious

Mulberry won the last time they faced Inspiration Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mulberry Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Inspiration Academy Lions, sneaking past 5-4.

Coby Anker looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayden Wyatt, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Mulberry's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Inspiration Academy, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-4.

Mulberry and Inspiration Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Mulberry will square off against Winter Haven at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 189 places (96 vs. 285). The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Mulberry 3.5, Inspiration Academy 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Inspiration Academy (ranked 68th) will meet Auburndale (ranked 446th) at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
