Football Recap: Gavin Hawkins Key Part of Team Effort in Crusaders Win + How To Watch

Bishop Kenny won against Parker last Friday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Crusaders beat the Rickards Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-14. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-7.

Bishop Kenny's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Hawkins, who threw for 272 yards and six TDs on perfect 10-for-10 passing. Those 272 passing yards gave Hawkins a new career-high. James Davis III was another key player, picking up 148 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Kenny and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Rickards, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bishop Kenny will square off against Menendez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rickards, they will face off against Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
