Softball Recap: Hereford Gets the Win

Hereford lost to Western Tech & Environmental Science back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Bulls came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 7-3.

Carlin Ball spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Alex Frank and Addison Stutz did most of the damage at the plate: Frank went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Stutz went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Stutz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aly Wegrzyn, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hereford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, their record is now 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hereford will welcome Catonsville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, they will host Dulaney at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
