The Mount Abram Roadrunners will challenge the Maranacook Black Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Mount Abram got the win against Madison by a conclusive 9-1. The Roadrunners haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kaiden Longley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Longley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Killian Pillsbury, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Maranacook waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Black Bears have posted against the Mustangs since May 29, 2018.
Like Mount Abram, Maranacook also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Longfellow. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Longfellow has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Walker Dumas and Caldre Glowa did most of the damage at the plate: Dumas went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Glowa went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Dumas has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Grady Hreben, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Maranacook hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount View struck out seven times.
Maranacook pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Abram, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
