Basketball Recap: Tartan Comes Up Short

Tartan lost against Mahtomedi back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tartan Titans were beaten by the Mahtomedi Zephyrs 89-32. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Zephyrs are ranked 29th).

Tartan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Mahtomedi, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Tartan will face off against Two Rivers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Two Rivers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Tartan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mahtomedi, they will challenge South St. Paul at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South St. Paul has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
