Basketball Recap: Mooresville Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Mooresville's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 67-46 margin over the Columbus East Olympians. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Olympians are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mooresville was led to victory by Randee Garringer and Ava Shafer. Garringer almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, while Shafer went 7 of 10 en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Garringer has posted since back in November of 2024. Kendal Price was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Mooresville was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mooresville's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Columbus East, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Mooresville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-30 victory against Whiteland on the 31st. As for Columbus East, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-25 defeat against Cathedral on the 30th.
