Volleyball Recap: Dwyer Panthers vs. Jupiter Warriors
Dwyer suffered their biggest defeat since September 19th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Jupiter Warriors, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Dwyer was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Jupiter work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-13, 25-23.
Dwyer's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Samantha Homberger, who had 20 digs, and Payton Lotz, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Lotz has posted since back in September.
Macy Mcamis was a one-man wrecking crew for Jupiter as she had 25 digs and five aces.
Dwyer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Jupiter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Dwyer has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Martin County on the 7th. As for Jupiter, they will play host again on Tuesday to welcome Saint Andrew's, where the match is scheduled at 6:00 p.m.
