Baseball Recap: Rigby Trojans vs. Highland Rams
Rigby lost against Highland last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rigby Trojans took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Rams. Rigby has not had much luck with Highland recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Gage Wise made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Shumway, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with an RBI.
On Highland's side, Taylor Stringfellow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Hudson John and Mason Payne did most of the damage at the plate: John scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Payne scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Drew Hymas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Rigby's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Highland, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
