Football Game Preview: Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels vs. Woodbine Tigers + How To Watch

The Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels will challenge the Woodbine Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Edgewood-Colesburg 54-18. The Rebels pushed the score to 47-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had no chance of recovering from.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Treyvon Herron, who rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Herron also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (1.5 for loss). Hudson Clark also helped with two TDs in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gladbrook-Reinbeck was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 191 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Kael Blohm refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 2.5 sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Woodbine faced Fremont-Mills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers took their game with ease, bagging a 50-12 victory over the Knights. The 50-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win keeps Woodbine at an undefeated 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.3 points on average this season. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, their record is now 11-0.
