Suggested Video

The Dysart Demons will challenge the Greenway Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dysart will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Dysart is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Paradise Honors on Thursday, sneaking past 50-48.

A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Isaiah Roman and his top target Donovan Hinchey. Roman threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt while Hinchey gained 171 total yards and three touchdowns. Avion Bailey was Roman's top target, picking up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Dysart's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Caden Braxton, Jevon Christmas, and Connor Stogner picked up one apiece. Christmas also set a new season high mark in rushing yards with 181. Another thorn in Paradise Honors' side was Noah Ramirez, who picked up a sack and made 20 total tackles.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dysart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Greenway didn't have quite enough to beat Deer Valley on Thursday and fell 28-25. The Demons gained 219 more yards on the day, but it was the Skyhawks that made the best use of them.

Despite their loss, Greenway saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Christian Shetler, who picked up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Mcnally, who threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Greenway's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Matthew Theall was especially locked on to Deer Valley's QB and sacked him twice.

The victory got Dysart back to even at 2-2. As for Greenway, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Dysart came up short against Greenway in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, falling 34-26. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Greenway's Carlos Toscano, who rushed for 260 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Now that Dysart knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
