Basketball Recap: Saxon Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lehi over Herriman

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lehi can now relate to. They fell to the Herriman Mustangs 67-63. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-52 back in December of 2024.

Lehi's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saxon Young, who posted 16 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ashton Shewell, who earned 14 points.

Lehi's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Herriman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Lehi does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Herriman, they will take on Corner Canyon at 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Corner Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Herriman likes a good challenge.
