Basketball Recap: Crisp Academy Find Success

There's no place like home for Crisp Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over the Fullington Academy Trojans on Monday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 64-35 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cutter Tharpe, who posted 22 points and three steals. That was a full 43.1% of Fullington Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Rylan Sangster was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 12 rebounds and four steals.

Crisp Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Fullington Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
