Softball Recap: Chilton Tigers vs. Algoma Wolves
Chilton proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Algoma Wolves 3-2. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.
Lauren Roehrig made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Roehrig was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Mya Grenzer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Eliana Bates was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Chilton's record now sits at 2-0. As for Algoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chilton will head out to face off against Kewaunee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Algoma, they will venture away from home to square off against Brillion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
